Feb 5-9 I am holding my popular query readiness class. In this class, we will write your query from scratch, edit it, and get it ready for you to send out. Since most agents ask for the first chapter in the submission packet we will evaluate that and get it ready as well.

The cost of the class is $75. There's a limited number of space and the signup form will be taken offline when the class is full. To sign up send $75 via Paypal to pam.vhv@gmail.com. After you've sent your payment fill out the signup sheet below.

Class Schedule:
5th - I will email you a formula to write your query.
6th - Turn in your query. I'll critique it and get it back to you for round two.
7th - Turn in your final version of your query. If it requires more editing I will send your draft back.
8th - I'll send back final edits.
9th - A day for questions.

We are closed to queries from March 9th - September 1st. In that time I will go through all backlog. We are accepting Own Voices manuscripts during the closure. I am specifically looking for Filipino voices in contemporary MG and YA and fantasy MG and YA.

It's been a wild couple of days guys. Jessie and I have been active in sharing vital information but we want to do more. Then it came to us.

I charge $100 for a query critique. It's not easy to write or critique a query. There's an art to both! And critiques are expensive.

Jessie and I have opened a new email where marginalized writers can send their queries and we will critique them for free. I am hoping other agents and editors and established authors will want to help with the critiques. If you do just contact me any way you want!

Writers, if you are a person of color, a woman in economic stress, disabled, LGBTQ, or a member of any other marginalized group send your query as a Word document to queryproject2016@gmail.com and we will get it back to you as soon as humanly possible.

If you have suggestions or want to help or have any thoughts whatsoever we want to hear them!
Hello!
To your immediate left please see a sampling of SnapChat selfies. :D

I have a couple of things today.

Firstly we are open to queries again. Jessie, Zach, and I are all caught up and we want to sign some amazing authors and send more book love out into the world.

Speaking of Jessie he's now an assistant instead of an intern. Jessie will be taking the lead on some projects with the help of Bob and I and hopefully will decide being an agent is for him. The first step is this initial training and we need new authors and books!

Secondly I want to start blogging here more often. So in the comments as you're congratulating Jessie on his well-deserved move please let me know the subjects you'd like to learn more about.

We are especially looking for diverse books and own voices.

I very much want a lower MG that focuses on a kid that uses a Magic 8 Ball to make all of life's decisions.

As we say goodbye to pumpkin spice and hello to gingerbread lattes I wish you the best. #blessed
